Duke star Marshall Plumlee graduates from ROTC training

Any die-hard Duke basketball fan, like myself, knows of one family name that has been one of the more prominent names with the Blue Devils over the last decade. The Plumlee brothers have all attended and played for Duke and have made a name for themselves in Durham.

The youngest brother, Marshall, has graduated from ROTC Cadet Leadership Course training and now plans to take what he has learned back to Mike Krzyzewski’s team for the 2015 season.

According to College Spun, Plumlee shared on his Instagram a picture of him walking with other Cadets in full uniform, saying he was “excited” to get back to the court with his teammates. I guess he has more of an excuse to take control of the team now.

Plumlee has two older brothers, Mason and Miles, who have both went on to the NBA to have successful careers. Mason now plays for the Portland Trail Blazers and Miles now plays with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Regardless of if Marshall goes onto have a successful professional career like his brothers, he will certainly never forget the lessons he learned while training with ROTC. That is something he will carry with himself throughout the rest of his life, no matter what he ends up doing.
