With David Villa and Frank Lampard also on New York City F.C.’s European tasting menu of players, Andrea Pirlo will transfer his six Serie A championships and a World Cup 1st place finishing with Italy to 7th-ranked NYC F.C. (2015: 20 points, 5-8).
Andre Pirlo, a 39-year-old from a Lombardy neighborhood in Italy, will join forces with a league that many others considered the “retirement league of Europoean players.” And after playing 10 years for Milan, Pirlo will stay stateside for 18 months, starting a countdown next season.
Pirlo will be officially inducted into NYC F.C.’s club either Wednesday or Thursday.
