Five-star SF Jonathan Isaac commits to Florida State

Class of 2016 five-star small forward Jonathan Isaac, out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, near Sarasota, has committed to Florida State University. IMG made the announcement on its personal Twitter page, and Isaac also made an announcement of his own.

Of unique size for his postion at 6-foot-9, 190 pounds, Isaac had also received offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Florida, West Virginia and LSU, among many others. He will now head to a Seminoles team that has gone 280-173 (113-108 ACC) in thirteen seasons under head coach Leonard Hamilton, but has only made the NCAA Tournament in four of those seasons; including a trip to the Sweet Sixteen in 2011.

Last season, FSU went 17-16 (8-10 ACC) and did not participate in any postseason play. Moreover, save for the Sweet Sixteen trip in 2011, the Seminoles have not made significant progress in the big dance since making the Elite Eight back in 1993.

Hopefully, combined with incoming Class of 2015 recruits Terance Mann, Malik Beasley and Dwayne Bacon, Isaac can make enough of an impact once he suits up that Florida State can once again become an impact team on the national level.
