Davis’ commitment now gives the Buckeyes 17 for the Class of 2016. He had also received offers from Michigan, Wisconsin, Clemson, Louisville, North Carolina and Tennessee.
His commitment to the defending national championships ensures that head coach Urban Meyer’s defense will be top-notch going forward as Ohio State looks to continue dominating both on the national level and in the Big Ten. In three years under Meyer, the Buckeyes are undefeated in conference play. Prior to Davis’ commitment, the team’s recruiting class for 2016 was ranked third in the nation by 247 Sports.
With this addition, don’t be surprised if the university rises in the ranks.
Ohio State opens the 2015 season on the road against the ACC’s Virginia Tech Hokies on September 7.
