Class of 2016 four-star defensive back Jared Mayden, out of Texas’ Sachse High School, near Dallas, has committed to the University of Oregon. Mayden announced his decision on Twitter and is currently attending Nike’s The Opening camp, oddly enough in Oregon.

Mayden is ranked the No. 11 corner in the nation by 247 Sports and had also received offers from Alabama, UCLA, Florida, Ohio State, Florida State and Michigan, among many other schools.
He will now be part of a Ducks team that, on top of establishing itself as one of the premier offenses in recent years, is starting to establish itself on defense as well. Mayden still has a year of high school to go, but Ducks fans will be waiting with baited breath as his Eugene debut draws nearer.
Oregon opens 2015 at home against the Big Sky’s Eastern Washington Eagles.
