In the 28th annual World University Games, USA’s basketball squad, led by Kansas head coach Bill Self, were victors over Lithuania in the basketball quarterfinals, 78-40, in the Dongkang College Gymnasium.
Although equivocally matched up heading into halftime at 43-42 in favor of the USA, Lithuania slacked off and hit a dry spell in the second half. One of the three Baltic states, Lithuania recorded a 6-point fourth quarter in opposition of USA’s dominant 25-point run.
