Once a multi-year relationship with Nike, Miami cut the umbilical cord and settled for adidas, who promises more product exclusivity and a substantial royalties fee of over three percent. Probably one of the most lucrative deals in the current sponsor wars with Nike and Under Armour, adidas announced a 12-year partnership with the Hurricanes athletic program.
The new uniform sponsor will pledge, in gratitude, to the University of Miami by hosting an invite-only party in South Beach at Club LIV this Saturday, July 18, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Miami will open the 2015 college football season with a non-conference game against Bethune Cookman on September 5. The following week, the Canes will travel to Boca Raton to play C-USA program, Florida Atlantic.
