Class of 2016 three-star cornerback DiCaprio Bootle, out of Florida’s Miami Southridge High School, has committed to the University of Nebraska. Bootle made the announcement on his personal Twitter page.
Bootle has not been heavily recruited but, according to 247 Sports, received offers from Appalachian State, Middle Tennessee State, Temple, UCF, South Alabama and FIU as well as Nebraska. Bootle also drew interest from the Texas Longhorns.
He now is set to join a Huskers team that finished 44th in total defense and 24th in passing defense last season, but could not seem to get to the next level under former coach Bo Pelini. Now that a fresh face in longtime Oregon State coach Mike Riley is in charge, perhaps Nebraska can get back to its former glory, and with Bootle doing great work in the secondary.
Nebraska opens 2015 at home against the BYU Cougars on September 5.
