After another example of the epidemic of violence against women that has been sweeping through college football, San Jose State University wasted no time in cutting ties with freshman wide receiver Kanya Bell, Jr. on Saturday.
Bell’s dismissal from the football program comes just one day after he was arrested and booked for an on-campus domestic battery incident involving a female.
The Spartans released a brief statement on Saturday afternoon in which head football coach Ron Caragher said, “We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior.”
Bell, a 6-foot, 160 lb. three-star recruit from Long Beach, CA, was attending summer classes to get started with the football team. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail after his arrest on Friday.
