Memphis basketball upgrades their training facility

After announcing a renovation for their football squad, the University of Memphis has pursued a new basketball training facility worth $1.6 million.

Linkous Construction Company will oversee the two-story, 63,000 square foot building, which resides in the Billy J. Murphy Athletic Complex that has undergone a $40 million face lift as a part of a “Vision for Victory” campaign. One piece of gratitude to the $40 million includes Memphis alum DeAngelo Williams, who contributed towards a modernized locker room in 2011 for the Memphis football team.

The developer beyond the project, which is set for completion next Fall, Nations Group plans on equipping the Memphis Tigers basketball team with the essentials – a Hall of Fame, space for academics, accommodations for media, a cross-configuration of four basketball goals and a weight room.
