Deshaun Watson named ACC Preseason Player of the Year

The ACC Kickoff media days are in full force and early Tuesday morning, Bruce Feldman reported that the ACC had named their top five when it comes to the ACC Player of the Year predictions this season. The Clemson Tigers will be happy to know that their quarterback has been named as the top player in the conference.

Deshaun Watson had a decent 2014 season as he threw for 1,466 yards and fourteen touchdowns against only two interceptions. He also rushed for 203 yards and five touchdowns. Watson struggled with injury all season long and missed five games for the Tigers, including the team’s 40-6 win over Oklahoma in the Athletic Bowl.

Watson has been called the best quarterback in the nation in the past, so it is no surprise when he was listed as the ACC Preseason Player of the Year.

It is looking to be a huge year for the Tigers. They were also picked to win the ACC this season. I can’t wait for the Tigers to go head-to-head with Florida State, which pits Watson against arguably the best defensive back in the country, Jalen Ramsey.

The Tigers open the season on September 5 when they host the Wofford Terriers.
