Washington LB Drew Lewis dismissed from team

Washington Huskies linebacker and redshirt freshman Drew Lewis has been dismissed from the program for what is only being called a “violation of team rules.”

John Taylor of NBC Sports’ College Football Talk reported Lewis’ dismissal, which was initially reported via a short statement from the university. Lewis was expected to play on special teams this season.

Prior to joining the Huskies last season and taking a redshirt, Lewis was a three-star recruit out of Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Washington, near Seattle.

If any further details surrounding Lewis’ dismissal are made public, Campus Sports will update this story accordingly.

Washington opens the season on the road on September 4, playing the Boise State Broncos in Huskies coach Chris Petersen’s long-anticipated return to Bronco Stadium after coaching BSU from 2006-2013.
