Class of 2016 forward Braxton Blackwell, out of Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, near the North Carolina state line, has narrowed his list of potential colleges down to six. Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported the development on Twitter.
Braxton Blackwell has narrowed his list to Kansas, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Texas, Tennessee & Virginia, according to his coach @DrewMaddux.

Per 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball, Vanderbilt is the current favorite. Though it may seem like an odd choice, considering how competitive the SEC is and that the Commodores have only made the NCAA Tournament six times in 16 seasons under head coach Kevin Stallings, it should be noted that Blackwell is originally from Nashville and the prospect of going home to lead Vanderbilt back into regular contention could be too hard to turn down.
But then again, the calls of the ever-contending Kansas Jayhawks, the possibility of playing for Shaka Smart at Texas or Rick Barnes at Tennessee, or the chance to rebuild Alabama with Avery Johnson or win consistently at Virginia could prove to be tough to ignore as well.
Campus Sports will update Blackwell’s decision as more information becomes available.
