This weekend’s series between the Nationals and Pirates is sure to be a heated battle, given how the two NL titans ended their last meeting in Pittsburgh–ahem Scherzer’s no-hitter, anyone? But we have learned that something quite touching came out of them last meeting as well.
The Washington Post unearthed the tale of Tessa Sayers, a Pittsburgh-area high schooler and die-hard Bryce Harper fan who asked the outfielder to prom last May–and caught his attention.

Harper certainly likes showing fans that he appreciates their adoration. Earlier this season when a fan through him her phone, Harper left a momento by taking a goofy-faced selfie before returning the phone to its owner.
