Class of 2017 four-star athlete Alaric Williams, out of Alabama’s Southside High School, about 62 miles northeast of Birmingham, has committed to Auburn. Williams made the announcement on his personal Twitter page.
I am officially an Auburn Tiger!! #WarEagle thanks everyone who has helped me with my decision. AU17

Williams currently plays running back at Southside, and is expected to stay at that position on the collegiate level. Considering how much Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn likes to run the ball, he should fit in just fine.
Williams is now the second member of the Tigers’ 2017 class, the other being five-star offensive tackle Calvin Ashley, out of Orlando, Florida. Needless to say, Auburn is going to be looking a lot like a national title contender come the 2017 season, depending on how the rest of the recruiting class for that year pans out.
Auburn opens 2015 against Bobby Petrino and the Louisville Cardinals on September 5, in a game set to be played at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome.
