Class of 2016 pro-style quarterback Kyle Trask, out of Texas’s Manvel High School, near Houston, has committed to the Florida Gators. Trask announced his decision on his personal Twitter page.
Blessed with fine size for the position at 6-foot-6, 211 pounds, Trask also received offers from McNeese State, Lamar and Houston Baptist. He had also drawn interest from Colorado State, Iowa State, Cornell and Louisiana-Lafayette.
Just how big a role he will play in Florida’s offense next season remains to be seen, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that new Gators head coach Jim McElwain is making the university look like an attractive destination once again. With the addition of Trask, Florida now has 18 commitments for 2016.
Needless to say, the Gators are shaping up to be a team to watch in the years to come.
