FWAA, National Football Foundation to continue weekly poll

|

There are a plethora of college football polls out there today. Even my statistics professor at the University of North Florida created his own rankings system.

According to Kevin McGuire of NBC Sports, we can now add another polling system to the list for the 2015 season.

The Football Writers Association of America and the Nation Football Foundation will continue their weekly poll this upcoming year. The two organizations announced today that they will continue their Super 16 poll — which will rank the top 16 teams in the nation.

These rankings are determined by a poll of selected sportswriters, College Football Hall of Famers and NFF board members. A decision has not been made on who will be voting.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with the FWAA on the Super 16 Poll,” said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell.

“We received lots of positive feedback during the 2014 season from fans on how much they enjoyed the poll’s release each week, and we’re looking to expand upon that momentum. We believe that our voters offer an extremely credible set of opinions, and we hope that the combined respect of both our organizations will continue to provide a compelling reference point for fans to follow during the season.”

The first ranking will be released on Tuesday, September 8th.
