4-star CB Jaylon Jones commits to Ole Miss

Class of 2016 cornerback Jaylon Jones, out of Allen High School, near Dallas, has committed to the Ole Miss Rebels. Marc Givler of Buckeye Grove, part of Rivals.com, reported Jones’ decision on Twitter.

Jones gives the Rebels 17 commitments for the 2016 season. He had also received offers from a myriad number of schools including Ohio State, Baylor, Auburn, Michigan, Texas A&M and Mississippi State, among others.

He will certainly be a welcome addition to a Rebels squad that finished 12th in total defense last season and 17th in defending the pass. Once Jones’ speed and strength are on the field, look for Hugh Freeze’s boys to continue making some noise in the SEC and pushing themselves into the national championship picture.

Ole Miss opens the season at home against the OVC’s Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks on September 5.
