Former Florida State Seminoles star quarterback Jameis Winston was drafted by the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year and Duke swingman Justise Winslow was drafted by the NBA’s Miami Heat.
Thus, when Winslow posted a picture of himself and Winston hanging out together on his Instagram, it somehow all made sense.
Winston was picked first overall by a Bucs team that desperately needed help at the quarterback position, and his ability to both throw well and use his legs when necessary should only help him take the team forward.
Winslow, on the other hand, was taken by Miami with the 10th overall pick after helping lead the Blue Devils to a national championship this past season, and just how much playing time he’ll get as a rookie remains to be seen.
Once he develops a more consistent scoring game, look for him to do some great work in South Beach.
The cities the two will be playing in might be a four hours’ drive from each other, but it’s still great to see both Winston and Winslow getting together so that they can figure out just how to indeed “take over” the Sunshine State.
