Richmond lands second 2016 commitment of the week

Richmond basketball brought in four talented freshman for the 2015-2016 season. Chris Mooney and the rest of his staff are now focusing on the class of 2016 recruits and they are well on their way to having another good class.

The Spiders have gotten two commitments in the last three days. Shooting guard De’Monte Buckingham committed on July 28th. Now Richmond has landed another commitment in 3-star shooting guard Nick Sherod. Both Buckingham and Sherod are from Richmond, Virginia.

The 6-foot-3 Sherod attends St. Christopher’s School were he was a first team all-state member. Sherod is playing for the Team Loaded Virginia this summer, who just won the 17u Gold at the Adidas Uprising Summer Championship where he shot 44% for the tournament.

It looks as if Buckingham and Sherod will not have to travel far when they go off to school next fall. Hopefully Mooney will be able to add a few more players from the 2016 class to round it out.
