It really looks like Jason Pierre-Paul blew his thumb off

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul suffered a horrific injury in a July 4 fireworks accident. He certainly proved to kids that you shouldn’t play with fireworks and he is paying for it in a big way.

Just days after his accident, Pierre-Paul went into surgery to have a finger from his right hand removed. BroBible shared the first pictures of Pierre-Paul since the incident and it honestly looks like he blew off more than just one finger.

Now it may be just the bandage on his hand that made the injury look much worse than originally believed, but if you ask anyone who doesn’t know a lot about bandaging, they will probably believe that he blew every one of his fingers off. While I am pretty sure that isn’t the case, the wrapping on his hand sure doesn’t do his thumb any kind of favors.

There has been no timetable for Pierre-Paul’s return as of right now, but I just hope that he uses this a valuable lesson. You don’t mess with gunpowder and fire. It will ALWAYS end badly.

The Giants open the season on September 13 when they travel to play the Dallas Cowboys.
