Under Armour unveils new ‘Armourgrid’ jersey

Under Armour released new uniforms today for a handful of college football programs, but they are not as different as you are thinking. These changes are more about the type of jersey.

Come the 2015-2016 season Notre Dame, Auburn, Utah, Maryland, and Cincinnati will all be wearing Under Armour’s new uniforms with “Armourgrid” technology.  The press release from Under Armour calls them the “Toughest Jersey We’ve Ever Made.”

“The incredible new football jersey is built with ArmourGrid Technology – the strongest, lightest, most durable fabric in the game. Inspired by the engineering in reinforced concrete, we created it for one reason: to make you ungrabbable on gameday. The result: they can;t hold you. They can’t stop you.”

The releases also show what each teams jerseys will look like.

Here is a look at the new Notre Dame uniforms, with a full look at each universities new look available here.

We will see how “ungrabbable” these teams will be come September, when college football season starts. For right now though as teams head into fall camps, they are jerseys that are bound to draw some attention.
