Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook is currently suspended after allegedly punching a woman outside of a Tallahassee bar. Cook’s arraignment date is scheduled for September 2, so his case is unlikely to be resolved before the start of the season.
For Cook and Florida State, that spells bad news.
According to ESPN’s David Hale, it is “extremely unlikely” that Cook takes the field before mid-September.
There is also no guarantee that Cook will play for Florida State this year.
“At this point, it’s up in the air whether he’ll see action at all for Florida State,” Hale wrote. If that is the case, Mario Pender is expected to receive his fair share of carries as the starter.
If Cook does get on the field, he will be a very valuable asset to the Seminoles offense and one of the top players in the ACC.
