Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Christian Hackenberg is one of the top signal-callers in all of college football. He has the size and skill set to excel at the next level and many believe he is a lock to be a first-round pick.
Ex-Penn State linebacker and former Detroit Lions president Matt Millen took his prediction one step further.
Not only does Millen believe Hackenberg has the talent to land in the first round, he believes the quarterback standout has what it takes to be a top five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
“This is going to be his last year, too,” Millen said, according to the Patriot-News. “I don’t see him staying four years. He is really talented. … He’s a top-five pick.”
Hackenberg will need to fine tune his skillset and will need to cut down on turnovers in 2015, but if he is able to do so, he should hear his name called early in Round 1.
Hackenberg will begin his 2015 campaign against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field on Sept. 5.
