4-star DB Jayvaughn Myers commits to Florida

Class of 2016 four-star defensive back Jayvaughn Myers, out of Pasco High School in Dade City, Florida, near Tampa, has committed to the Florida Gators. Myers announced his decision on his personal Twitter page.

Myers is yet another feather in the cap of new Gators coach Jim McElwain, who has yet to coach a single game for the team but already has 19 hard commits for the 2016 recruiting class, all of whom are at least three-star talents or better. On top of Florida, Myers had received offers from a great number of schools including Miami, Florida State, Louisville, Auburn and Oklahoma, among many others.

Just what his role will be once he suits up in Gainesville remains to be seen, but Myers obviously made the choice he felt was best for him and his family and will definitely be exciting to watch come next season.

Florida opens the McElwain era at home against New Mexico State on September 5.
