Former Ohio State quarterback is returning to his old stomping grounds. No, he isn’t going back to be a coach with the Buckeyes and he isn’t even going to be under center when he gets there.
Pryor signed with the Cleveland Browns in June and decided to make a big switch from quarterback to wide receiver. He will be traveling with the team up the road to Columbus on Thursday and Friday as the Buckeyes’ stadium is playing host to a scrimmage for the Browns.
College Spun shared a tweet from Pryor that shows off his excitement for the upcoming return to his alma mater. This will be the first time Pryor has returned to The Horseshoe since he was banned from all contact with Ohio State athletics in 2011 for his involvement in the tattoo scandal.
If you ask Pryor’s former coach Jim Tressel, he will tell you that his former quarterback won’t be able to stand up to the pressure of being back home. Last week while at a Browns practice, Tressel jokingly said that Pryor would drop the first three passes in the stadium.
Maybe being back in the stadium will bring back some old feelings for Pryor and he will ask for a trick play that allows him to heave a few passes down the field.
