Busta Rhymes arrested for assault with a protein shake

We have heard of people getting arrested for some pretty crazy stuff, but it is a rare thing when a celebrity gets arrested for some kind of crazy nonsense. Rapper Busta Rhymes may have just taken the award for “Craziest Celebrity Arrest of 2015.”

According to Buzzfeed, Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, was arrested Wednesday night for assaulting a gym employee with a protein shake. The 43-year-old rapper posted bail that night and reassured his fans that everything was all good.

Rhymes was reportedly arrested after he threw a “cardboard container of Lean Body protein shake strawberry flavored at an employee of the Steel gym,” according to NYPD. The assault stemmed from “an ongoing dispute” that saw Rhymes and the employee “throwing water at each other.”

Rhymes was charged with felony assault in the second degree. His attorney Scott Leemon said that he was released from jail around 1 a.m. Thursday morning. Leemon was not pleased with the charges for which Rhymes is scheduled a November 6 court date.

“These charges are a bunch of bull. This another attempt of someone trying to take advantage of Busta’s celebrity status. I am confident that he will be vindicated,“ Leemon said.
