Golden Tate debuts custom Detroit Lions luchador mask

Detroit Lion wide receiver Golden Tate is one of the more exciting players to watch on the field. The same can be said for former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio about his in-ring ability. Heck, all Lucha Libre-style wrestling is amazing, but Mysterio was one of the best in the WWE and WCW. Tate must know how good he was, because he is trying to be just like him at the Lions training camp.

A photo of the wide receiver wearing a custom Lions-luchador mask on camp circulated on Twitter early Saturday morning and the mask would do Mysterio proud. I hope that this isn’t the only Mysterio-themed gear we see from NFL players this season.

Maybe someone will take advantage of making a Mysterio-type entrance into a game this season.

Someone needs to make this happen! Get on it Tate. You already have a unique name and the awesome mask. Complete the trifecta with the entrance too.

The Lions open the regular season on November 13 when they play in Qualcomm Stadium against the San Diego Chargers.
