The Texas Longhorns have been going through a very rough period of time in their storied program, but are doing their best to turn things around. Head coach Charlie Strong is without question the right guy to lead the way for the Longhorns, and he has commanded the respect of each and every one of his players. Now that they are set to take the next step, they know that they cannot afford to have another down season.

Check out one of their newest ways of proving that they understand the importance of the 2015 season, with the new shirts that they wore with the words “no more excuses” printed on them.

Seeing these shirts should excite the Longhorns fan base, as the team understands that the expectations need to be met this year. They aren’t expected to be a legitimate college football playoff contender in 2015, but they are expected to finish the season with a better record than the 6-7 record that they had last season. Strong has put together a more talented roster for the upcoming season, and they should be able to take the next step.

Strong has been putting together good recruiting classes since taking over, and the 2016 class in particular has some players that can make a major difference.

Looking ahead at this season, however, it will all come down to whether or not they can find a quarterback. That was a big issue for them last year as well, and is the biggest question mark for quite a few teams around the country. If one of their quarterbacks steps up this year, they could be a major surprise for the Big 12.

Expect to see the Longhorns improve their record by a win or two during the 2015 season. They are growing very quickly under Strong, and he has the program back on the right track.
