Video: Cam Newton involved in fight at Panthers camp

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is known one of the more level-headed guys in the NFL. However, everyone has their breaking points and apparently, Newton came to his when he got into a scuffle with Panthers defensive back Josh Norman at training camp Monda morning.

The Charlotte Observer first broke the news and shared a video and photos of the fight. It took nearly a dozen players to break up the fight.

The fight broke out around 10:30 a.m. during a passing drill at the Panthers camp at Wofford College. Head coach Ron Rivera and defensive coordinator Sean McDermott had gotten upset with the defense about not going hard enough during practice.

That is what gave fuel to the fire with the fight.

Norman intercepted a pass from Newton and proceeded to run towards the opposite endzone. Newton gave chase and shoved Norman, which caused a reaction from the top cornerback on the team. The two broke out into the scuffle that actually went to the ground.

Maybe this was fight was caused by tempers flaring or the players being frustrated about their practice not going the way they had hoped. Either way, I’m sure the beef between the two is now non-existent and they have probably made up by now.

At least, the Panthers better hope they have.
