Jermaine Jones talks US soccer, World Cup, Ronaldo & more

Campus Sports recently caught up with United States soccer star Jermaine Jones as part of our new online interview series, “Timeout.”

During the sitdown at Jones’ home in Los Angeles, the 33-year-old midfielder opened up about what it was like to represent the United States in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and to come away with one of the top goals of the tournament.

Jones also discusses how the World Cup fame changed his life — which included an entertaining meeting with Charlie Sheen — while providing some advice to young, aspiring soccer players who are looking to break through.

For fans of the international game, you will also want to hear what Jones had to say about reigning Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who won the award as soccer’s best player in each of the past two years.
