Urban Meyer has yet to disclose any information about who will be the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes this season. However, according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN, one Big Ten assistant coach claims he knows who will win the competition.
This unknown defensive coordinator didn’t say anything that wasn’t true, but you should never assume when it comes to matters of the Buckeyes and Urban Meyer. In the off-season, experts were expecting Braxton Miller to resume the starter-role, but he ended up switching positions to play wide receiver.
The truth is, nobody knows what the head coach and his staff have up their sleeves.
All defensive coordinators should be planning to face both quarterbacks. Either player is capable of leading Ohio State to another national championship season.
Meyer has handled this situation very delicately. He will end up being praised or ridiculed for the decision.
We won’t know for certain who the starter is until September 7th at Virginia Tech
