Texas Longhorns fans may reminisce about the glory days of quarterback Colt McCoy and receiver Jordan Shipley making magic on the field, but they can now enjoy seeing the former dynamic duo in action once again.
No, not on the field, but in a commercial for the Longhorn Network that redefines skeet shooting.
One can’t help but smile at this ad, as it shows that neither man has lost their edge.
McCoy threw for 13,253 yards and 112 touchdowns while completing an eye-popping 70.3 percent of his passes in four years at Texas, while Shipley caught 248 passes for 3,191 yards and 33 touchdowns over the same stretch.
Both men were third-round picks in the 2010 NFL Draft, but neither made much of an impact on the professional level. McCoy has spent a majority of his career as a backup with the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins, with whom he still plays, and Shipley spent three years with the Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before injuries forced him into retirement at just 29 years old.
But that doesn’t take away from the fact that both men still have a great relationship despite their careers taking different paths, and this commercial should make anyone smile.
