NBA rookies attempt to spell Kristaps Porzingis’ name

Every NBA draft, there is a player whose name is tough to spell. This year, that player just happens to be New York Knicks rookie big man Kristaps Porzingis, who is originally from Latvia. Sure enough, rounded up some of Porzingis’ fellow NBA rookies and gave them the ultimate spelling test: spell Porzingis’ name in full.

Needless to say, the video (which may be viewed here) is hysterical to watch. Just when a bunch of grown men thought they were done with spelling tests, here they are now ON CAMERA being asked to spell the name of someone who also happens to be in the same space with them. Out of those in the video, the only ones to spell Porzingis’ name correctly are Minnesota Timberwolves center and reigning No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns and Houston Rockets forward Sam Dekker. The only other player that came remotely close was Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner, who was just one letter off.

Then, there was Sacramento Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein, who didn’t even try and just shook his head at the camera.

Thus, if you’re looking for a laugh this afternoon, look no further than this video!
