Ohio State Buckeyes assistant football coach Zach Smith posted a photo of a helmet on his Instagram, and it may have unveiled a new matte black helmet.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are without question one of the best teams in college football heading into the 2015 season. Coming off of a championship last season, the Buckeyes are hoping to make a run at back-to-back titles. That isn’t going to be easy to say the least, but there is no denying the fact that they have the talent on paper to make it happen.

While jerseys don’t have anything to do with on-the-field production, the Buckeyes have been rumored to have a black uniform that they will wear for at least one game this year. Assistant coach Zach Smith may very well have revealed a new matte black helmet that may be worn this season. It hasn’t been officially announced, but the helmet definitely looks sleek.

New jerseys and helmets are always an entertaining part of the world of sports. Ohio State hasn’t made a ton of drastic changes with their jerseys and helmets in awhile, and this could be the year that they break out those changes.

Check out the new helmet and leave what you think of them in the comments below.
