As the 2015 college football continues to draw closer, the Virginia Tech Hokies are preparing for what is expected to be a big step forward.

Frank Beamer is excited about the team that he has put together, and the team seems to have a lot of high character players on it. That was apparent once again as they went out in the community and surprised fans with a pickup two-hand touch football game.

It is obvious that the football team going out in the community like this is more than just mandatory team rules. They went out and were having fun putting on a show for the public.

This is exactly the type of stuff that needs to be in the media more often than the negativity that surrounding sports these days. If more football players would focus on being role models and doing this kind of thing rather than partying, blowing money and making fools of themselves, there wouldn’t be such a big issue. Virginia Tech got it right with this move, and hopefully all of these players stay out of the negative news in the future.

Virginia Tech now has the community behind them more than ever and it will be interesting to see how they perform during the 2015 season. If they live up to their full potential, there is no question that their record should take a big jump from the 7-6 record that they had last season.

Expect to see them take the jump and be a legitimate contender in the ACC this season.
