Western Michigan gives walk-on a scholarship in unique way

Over the past few weeks, we have seen a number of deserving walk-on players presented with scholarships. Teams have been filming the surprises so we can all witness the special moments, but the Western Michigan Broncos have just given us the best we have seen to date.

In a touching presentation on YouTube titled, “The Surprise Onside Scholarship,” we get to see Western Michigan walk-on Trevor Sweeney receive his scholarship in a very unique and touching way.

Sweeney is a special teams player for the Broncos who plays with incredible passion, so head coach PJ Fleck decided to reward Sweeney for his hard work, dedication and sacrifice for the program by taping his scholarship to a football.

The Broncos then practiced an onside kick that was recovered by Sweeney and he then realized what he had just received.

As you’d expect, his teammates were thrilled.
