Michigan bans students from bringing cell phones to open practice

There have been multiple head coaches in recent days that have closed practices to the media or simply asked that the media does not report what they see. Now, another team is taking things to the next level.

On Saturday night, the Michigan Wolverines are holding a practice that is only open to students.

With no media or open public availability, you would expect to see a more relaxed environment. However, the security will be as strict as ever with Michigan students unable to bring their cell phones into the stadium.

It may be tough for some to understand why Harbaugh is banning students cell phones from the practice, but it is a move that he believes will help his football team.

By avoiding any possible leaks or photos of formations that could be sent out on social media, Harbaugh will be able to retain his secrecy.
