Michigan State women’s hoops adds five-star wing

The Michigan State Spartans women’s basketball team has landed a major recruit for the program.

Nia Hollie, a five-star recruit out of Minnetonka Hopkins High School in Minnesota, announced her verbal commitment to the Spartans during a television interview on Friday.

Despite being from Minnesota, Hollie has been recruiting by the Spartans since middle school and that resilience has paid off.

“It’s been a long journey, but I’m really glad that I can continue my career and be able to fight for a national championship,” Hollie said, via the Lansing State Journal.

“It just seemed like the right for me and I know when I was there it just felt like home.”

Michigan State head coach Suzy Merchant has to be thrilled about the news which gives an immediate and major boost to her 2016 recruiting class.
