Despite one particular former Boise State defensive end suffering misfortune in the Lone Star State, another is still heading there via a transfer.
In an announcement on his personal Twitter page a couple of days ago, former Bronco Mat Boesen announced his intentions to transfer to Texas Christian and continue his college career.

A former three-star recruit out of California’s West Torrance High School, Boesen redshirted as a true freshman at Boise State in 2013. He hasn’t been without off-field issues, having been arrested on traffic charges in July of last year, and coach Chris Petersen dismissed him from the team a month later. Boesen then spent the 2014 season at a junior college in California.
He will now look to turn over a new leaf with the Horned Frogs, who could use some help on defense. TCU beat out Missouri, Oregon and Baylor for Boesen’s services and ranked 31st in the nation in total defense last season, but need a strong presence to take the next step forward. Boesen is a hard hitter who can inject life into the team’s front seven and though he’ll have to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules, he’ll surely make an impact in Fort Worth in 2016 as TCU continues to fight for a championship.
