Some of professional sports’ greatest moments are captured on film. Whether it’s shot in black-and-white or captured in hi-def, sports greatest moments are forever captured by camera or by video.
But sometimes, it is a canvas and some vibrant oils and acrylics that really immortalizes a sports moment. Like, oh I don’t know, winning the Stanley Cup perhaps?

This poppin’ portrait of Marian Hossa was created by Elliott From of Artbeat Live— which according to Twitter accompanies Lord Stanley’s mug on its ventures across Europe with a few of the players.

Chicago-based expressionist From “creates one of a kind portraits in a matter of minutes to music,” and appears to be quite the Blackhawks fan. (I did some digging to see if From painted this picture of Hossa to “Sweet Home Chicago” or “Chelsea Dagger” but unfortunately came up empty-handed.)
