Two Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball players have been cited for illegal possession of alcohol, per Jennie Runevitch of WTHR 13 Indianapolis. The two players are sophomore Emmitt Holt and five-star freshman Thomas Bryant. Runevitch offered more briefly.
Police say two Indiana University basketball players have been cited for illegal possession of alcohol.
Excise Police confirm Thomas Bryant and Emmitt Holt were cited at 12:50 a.m. last Friday (August 21).
This story is developing and will be updated as details are confirmed.
This would be the second time in less than a year that Holt has been in trouble, as he was the man behind the wheel of the car that accidentally struck teammate Devin Davis and put him in the hospital. Davis suffered a traumatic brain injury (from which he has since recovered) and Holt was suspended from the team after his blood alcohol content was reported to be .025. He would later return to the team in a reserve role, while Davis missed the season before being dismissed from the program back in May following a marijuana citation.
Chances are that at this point, Holt is staring a dismissal from the program square in the face. Bryant, on the other hand, may get off with a short suspension, but this is all pure speculation.
Of course, Campus Sports will update this story as more information becomes available.
