A few weeks ago, Former UFC fighter and current WWE superstar Brock Lesnar appeared on Sportscenter to discuss a number of topics. One of those topics was Ronda Rousey and her dominance over the women’s divison in UFC.
Apparently, Lesnar isn’t the only WWE superstar that thinks she is pretty powerful. Part-time WWE superstar and lead singer of the rock band Fozzy, Chris Jericho, talked about Rousey on a recent episode of “2 Point Lead.” According to Fansided, Jericho, whose real name is Chris Irvine, compared Rousey’s power to that of 2016 Democratic Presidential hopeful candidate Hillary Clinton. His comments were prett interesting.
“Ronda Rousey, I think everybody in the country knows who she is and appreciates what she does. She kicks ass, she’s a pretty girl, she’s a good actress,” Jericho told ‘2 Point Lead’ host Yannis Pappas. “Everything that the women’s movement or the empowerment of women, she’s the poster girl. Everybody likes her.
“So, Hillary Clinton, 30 percent of the country is voting, 15 percent like her, 15 percent hate her. And the country we’re in, 98 percent of people know who Ronda Rousey is and they like her. So, she’s more powerful.”
If we are going by a percentage of people who actually like someone, then yes, Rousey is more powerful than Clinton. You could also argue that Rousey has influenced a huge movement in women’s sports over the last three years.
The only way you could consider Clinton more powerful than Rousey is if she wins the presidency next year. I don’t know about you, but if that happens, then there could be something seriously wrong with everything in the coming years.
