Oregon wedding forgoes wine bar for weed tent

Here’s something that you won’t find on most Pinterest “Wedding Inspiration” boards.

There’s a couple who just got married on a Christmas tree farm up in Oregon, and their reception included–drumroll please–a weed tent.

Apparently budtender is the new bartender up in Oregon, where marijuana has recently been legalized.

Groom John Elledge told USA Today:

“We were shocked by how much people loved it… I’m still getting a couple of texts a day from guests who enjoyed the weed tent… Even an 81-year-old woman who hadn’t smoked weed since the ’60s came into the tent at our wedding.”

Granted there are some legal limitations with having a gonge bar at your wedding. The article explains that there is an alotted amount of bud that can be served at the event, and “a caterer with a liquor license cannot legally serve alcohol at an event where marijuana is also being served to guests.”

Okay, so there’s a little red tape. However, if you are planning your special day with company that prefers to puff-puff-pass instead of chug-chug-chug this might be a wedding idea you want to consider.

Especially since it appears to have been a big success. Elledge was reportedly “still getting a couple of texts a day from guests who enjoyed the weed tent.”
