Florida OT Martez Ivey could be back in a few weeks?

Florida Gators fans held their breath when it was announced that five-star freshman offensive tackle Martez Ivey would undergo surgery for a leg injury, but everyone can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Per Landon Watnick of Inside the Gators, part of Rivals.com, Ivey’s father has stated that his son’s arthroscopic surgery went well and he should return in just a few weeks.

For Ivey to miss just two games would be more than ideal, as the game against Kentucky is on the road and also Florida’s first SEC game of the season. With great size at 6-foot-6, 302 pounds, here’s hoping that first-year coach Jim McElwain’s prized recruit can recover quickly and get back on the field in time to be a key contributor this season!

Florida opens 2015 at home against the New Mexico State Aggies on September 5.
