Penn State Athletic Director Sandy Barbour announced that the Nittany Lions will open the 2019 season against the Idaho Vandals at Beaver Stadium. The game will be held on Aug. 31, according to GoPSUSports.com.
This game will mark the first meeting between the two schools’ respective programs’ histories.
After scheduling Idaho, Penn State is now set to face off against teams from the Sun Belt conference three years in a row. They face Georgia State (2017), Appalachian State (2018) and now Idaho (2019). Penn State will open against the Sun Belt in back-to-back years against the Mountaineers and Vandals.
This year the Nittany Lions open the 2015 season against the Temple Owls at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m.
