Class of 2016 three-star point guard Jordan Bohannon, out of Iowa’s Linn-Mar High School, near Cedar Rapids, will stay in-state and head to Iowa City to play for the Hawkeyes in a year. Bohannon announced his decision on his personal Twitter page.
I am extremely blessed & excited to announce that I have committed to play basketball at the University of Iowa.🏀 #HawkeyeNation🐥

Bohannon also spoke to Scott Dochterman of the Cedar Rapids Gazette and discussed his desire to play for coach Fran McCaffery.
“I know he really wants me to play the one,” Bohannon said. “When (2017 commit) Connor (McCaffery) comes in we can switch off one and two like kind of like a combo. He’ll guard the bigger guard, and I’ll guard the smaller guard.”
Bohannon said McCaffery praised him for his defense.
“I think I’m really tough-minded,” Bohannon said. “I know I’m undersized; my knowledge makes up for it. I can get everybody in the right spot and make the right passes.”
Bohannon joins three-star forward Cordell Pemsl and forward Ryan Kriener in the 2016 class. Given how senior guards Mike Gesell and Anthony Clemmons will graduate next year, the six-foot point man’s arrival on campus could not have better timing.
