Arizona sophomore TE Trevor Wood out for 2015

Apart from losing linebacker Cody Ippolito for the season due to an ACL injury, the Arizona Wildcats will be without another young and promising talent for 2015.

Coach Rich Rodriguez announced that sophomore tight end Trevor Wood will miss 2015 with a shoulder injury, per Daniel Berk of Tuscon.com.

“We don’t belabor the point a lot because it gives somebody else the chance to go play,” Rodriguez said of the injuries. “We have quite a few young guys, freshmen, that will be playing sooner than they or we anticipated.”

A former three-star recruit out of Scottsdale’s Chaparral High School, Wood appeared in four games last year and registered four tackles while playing primarily on special teams. His absence will likely be filled by juniors Matt Morin and Josh Kern, as well as freshman Darrell Cloy Jr.

Hopefully, Arizona still manages to have another strong season and continue to make noise in the Pac-12 Conference.

The Wildcats open the season at home against Texas-San Antonio on September 3.
