North Dakota State, Montana to play despite unhealthy air

Well, that is not something you will hear every day. The North Dakota State Bison, who have won four-consecutive FCS championships, will take on the Montana Grizzlies in a meeting of top 15-ranked teams in the Football Championship Subdivision.

However, there is a dark cloud hanging over the game, with unhealthy air conditions above Washington–Grizzly Stadium in Missoula.

Despite the health issues surrounding the area because of smoke caused by wildfires, the game will go on as planned.

According to Missoula.com, Missoula rated a 184 on the Air Quality Index. The report adds, “more than 200 is considered very unhealthy for a one-hour stretch.”

Let’s hope that the air quality does not negatively impact any of the players or fans who are in attendance for the first college football game of the year.

North Dakota State vs. Montana kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET. You can watch the game on ESPN or on the WatchESPN mobile app.
