OC Clay Helton will call plays for USC in 2015

According to reports from , USC has announced offensive coordinator Clay Helton will assume more of an offensive play-calling role to help head coach Steve Sarkisian focus on head coaching.

This change comes after Sarkisian was reportedly drunk at a USC booster event, slurring his words and making disrespectful comments about their opponents. Giving Helton the reigns to call the plays may be an attempt to get Sarkisian treatment for what he thinks may or may not be a problem, according to earlier statements.

USC is favored by many to win the Pac-12.

Only time will tell how the change will affect the offense led by Heisman hopeful Cody Kessler.

USC enters the season ranked No. 8 in the American Press Poll and opens its 2015 season against Arkansas State on Sept. 5.
